Release

Humans have a SuperPower. We have an uncanny ability to Adapt. And Repetition is the key to adaption, we all know: practice make perfect!

The body will adapt to anything we do consistently, whether we are trying to or not.

Over-training, under-training, even sitting at a desk will condition some muscles and not others. These muscle imbalances lead to poor skeletal alignment, poor joint function, even poor circulation and nerve function.

These targeted, strategic release drills will restore muscle balance and reeducate force couples for range and stability.

Release: Neck and Shoulders

Hand On Shoulder

When all else fails: Grit your Teeth!

Our instinctive response to instability and insecurity is to hold on tight with the Jaw, Neck and Shoulders. Rigidity here will compound the sense of insecurity and can deeply effect your mood and peace of mind. Not to mention it just Hurts!

Release: the Hips

Beach Fitness Session

As reciprocal components of a single system, rigidity patterns in the hips are never simple! Like watching a film slow down until it stops, as we adapt to our environmental biases, reciprocal rotation in the hips is gradually lost, along with balance, strength, stability and power.

Release: the Feet

Bare Feet Closeup

The other end of the chain, the naturally strong, flexible, articulate feet are masters of adaptation in their role as external interface. But when forced to adapt to limitations in the structure, they lose the ability to adapt to the environment. Once again our quest for stability leaves us more unstable.

Release: Low Back

Person holding a yoga pose

Lynch-pin to both stability and mobility, the lumbar spine and sacrum form the skeletal axis and organizing point for all human movement. Deep core stabilizers provide the foundation for all subsequent efficiency of movement. Rigidity here is akin to a grain of sand in a nuclear centrifuge.
